Oakland Park Oktoberfest October 5-7, 2018
The 14th annual Oakland Park Oktoberfest complements the downtown Culinary Arts District with German-style food and beer, served in the Oktoberfest Biergarten. Oakland Park Oktoberfest is presented by Funky Buddha Brewery.
Oakland Park Oktoberfest attractions include live German music performed by Alpine Express and Sepp Diepolder a Master yodler, zither and accordion player. In addition to food, drink and music, field games and activities, such as stein races, beer barrel races, apple strudel eating contest and more is scheduled throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday at the Beschäftigungsfeld. This family friendly event offers amusement rides and a Children’s Activity Corner, to keep even the youngest lads and lasses entertained at Oktoberfest.
Oakland Park Oktoberfest plays host to Central Bark’s Dachshund Dash. For the past 13 years, thousands of South Floridians have come to Oakland Park Oktoberfest to see and cheer on 64 short, stubby and most adorable dachshunds race each other. Registration closes a week before the event. The Dachshund Dash will take place on Saturday, October 6th.
Our 1st Annual Oakland Park Oktoberfest Doggie Fashion Show presented by Pet Supermarket will take place on Sunday, October 7th at 4:30PM, center park. There are three Fashion Show Categories:
- Doggie Diva (most fashionable)
- Twinning: owner & doggie dress alike
- Oktoberfest Dog (best Oktoberfest costume)
One prize presented by Pet Supermarket will be awarded to the [one] winner in each category. Dogs participating in the Doggie Fashion Show must be under 25 lbs. Photo and vet records is required as part of the application process. Click here https://bit.ly/2MbE8BL to apply online.
Oktoberfest dates and times are:
- Friday, October 5, 6 to 11 p.m.
- Saturday, October 6, 1 to 11 p.m.
- Sunday, October 7, 1 to 7 p.m.
